I'm A. Dane Anderson, 31, a lifelong Utah resident. I have lived with my family in Herriman for the last 7 years. I am an employee of the Utah Housing Corporation, an independent agency of the state government created to help provide affordable housing to people in the state. As a strong believer in fair government by the voters, I believe that no political office should be won in an unopposed race, which is why I have entered the race for the Utah Senate. I am focused on some of the most urgent issues in the state today. Namely, addressing our growing housing shortage, ensuring fair governance by the voters, and addressing the environmental and climate crisis that the rapid depletion of the Great Salt Lake is wreaking upon our home.

-I will continue to take NO campaign donations from corporations and PACs.
-I will seek to increase and enforce the ethics frameworks for all elected officials.
-I will work to ensure that the citizens' will (as expressed through ballot initiatives and propositions that have already been voted on) is enacted.
-I will work to reverse the changes to the ballot initiatives process put in place in recent years that make it harder for those initiatives to appear on the ballot.

-I will work to limit corporate ownership of properties, including for use as short term rentals.
-I will continue to fund and work to expand programs providing funds to help home-buyers.
-I will work to create rent control to allow our most essential workers to afford their lives.
Environmental Protection and Climate Change

-I will work to create legislation that actually takes action to help with our rapidly shrinking lake and wetlands, not just shift the responsibility to corporate interests.
-I will work to fund and permit energy projects that do not require the use of fossil fuels, which are both non-renewable and heavily contribute to our declining air quality and warming climate.
-I will work to encourage and hopefully fund electrification of both personal and commercial vehicles, as well as expansion of the charging infrastructure.
